SmartUtils Easy Password Portable

Developed as the portable twin of SmartUtils Easy Password, this small-sized software utility can generate secure passwords for online accounts and remember them with the help of a master password. It does not include complex features or configuration parameters, making it accessible to all types of users, even those less experienced with such apps.

Thanks to the fact that installation is not required, you can save the program files to any location on the HDD and immediately launch the executable file.

There is also the alternative to keep SmartUtils Easy Password stored on a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC and generate secure passwords when you're on the move.

The advantage of portable apps is that they do not modify Windows registry settings or create additional files on the disk without permission, and this is certainly the case of SmartUtils Easy Password Portable.

At startup, the app does not pop up a window but creates an icon in the system tray area instead. The main window has an intuitive structure, where you can specify a master password and input the URL of each website you want to generate a key for. Pointing out the login name is optional.

Once the key is generated, you can copy it to the Clipboard by clicking a button. If you change the master password into something else, the tool will generate new keys. It remembers the original keys generated for each website, depending on the master password used.

Other features of SmartUtils Easy Password let you set the tool to run at every system startup until further notice, as well as to remember the master key. Backup and restore functions are available as well.

The tool does not put a strain on PC performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. There were no issues throughout our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. All in all, SmartUtils Easy Password is a pretty clever app for keeping track of randomly generated passwords to different websites by keeping in mind just a master key.
