Portable File Organiser

Made as the portable counterpart of File Organiser, this is a simple-to-use file manager that has two panes to help you easily perform file operations via drag-and-drop.

As there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the app files anywhere on the disk and just click the .EXE file to launch File Organiser. Otherwise, you can save it to a pen drive to directly run it on any PC. Unlike most installers, it doesn't modify Windows registry settings.

The interface is made from a large window split into two separate panes which you can use to navigate two different folders to copy, move or swap files.

It's possible to filter all files in the current directory by type (e.g. text documents, images, templates), change the viewing mode (e.g. list, details, thumbnails), and view EXIF information for pictures.

Several buttons are displayed on the top part of each pane, enabling you to quickly access local drives, delete, rename or search for files, create new ones, and mark favorites. Internet links can be saved to HTML files.

What's more, you can disable message confirmations for deleting, moving or copying files and folders as well as for creating new folders. Subdirectories can be included or excluded from folder copy, move or delete operations.

The file manager worked smoothly in our tests, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or display error dialogs. It had a good response time and minimal impact on the overall performance of the computer, running on low CPU and RAM.

Although it seems outdated, File Organiser offers several simple options for rapidly performing file operations using dual panes, and it can be easily handled by anyone.
