Portable vXCopy is a feather-light and portable application you can use to quickly copy files and folders to other directories at the same time.
It offers support for multiple threads as well as advanced filters. Although the tool may sound complicated to work with, it can be handled not only by expert PC users, but also those less experienced with such apps.
Once fired up, the utility creates an icon in the system tray and provides fast access to its settings while enabling you to carry on with your normal desktop activity without any interruptions.
The main configuration panel has a simple look and neatly structured layout, where you can immediately start tinkering with file copy properties.
It's possible to specify the source and destination path, include or exclude any files and folders by name or extension, pick the number of threads to use, as well as enable recursive and force copy mode.
During the task, you can check out the elapsed time, file and folder count, copied items, along with the total copied size and speed in the status bar. There is no option implemented for pausing the job, but it can be canceled if you change your mind or if it takes too long.
Once the operation is over, Portable vXCopy reveals the source path, name, status, size, date, bytes copied, and percent of each file.
The program's not wrapped in a setup kit, so you can save the downloaded files to a custom folder on the disk or copy them to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly run Portable vXCopy on any PC with minimum effort.
It doesn't add new entries to the system registry, so it doesn't increase the risk of OS stability issues. Just keep in mind that you must have .NET Framework installed, otherwise it won't launch.
It left a small footprint resources in our tests and carried out file copy operations rapidly. However, it failed to start the tasks on several occasions, although no errors were indicated in this regard. Nevertheless, you can test Portable vXCopy for yourself.
