Portable SiriSoft FileFinder

Portable SiriSoft FileFinder is a lightweight application that enables you to locate files on the disk using wildcards. It contains intuitive options that can be easily figured out by all types of users, even those inexperienced with such software.

The entire program's packed in a single .exe file that can be saved in any part of the disk or copied to a USB flash drive and simply double-clicked to launch the application on any machine with no previous installers. It doesn't need any DLLs to run, doesn't create extra files on the disk without your permission, and doesn't change Windows registry settings.

After indicating the drive or directory to scan, you can define the file pattern to be verified using wildcards. For example, you can instruct the utility to locate all files matching a specific extension.

This task shouldn't take long, depending on the size of your drive and wildcards applied. On scan completion, Portable SiriSoft FileFinder lists the full path of each identified file, giving you the possibility to select one, more or all items from the list to copy them to the Clipboard, in order to paste them in another location on the HDD. Moreover, you can ask the tool to list the directory structure.

We haven't come across any stability issues in our evaluation, thanks to the fact that the software program didn't freeze, crash or prompt error dialogs. It carried out file search jobs rapidly in our tests while remaining light on system resources usage.

On the other hand, it hasn't been updated for a long time and doesn't make too much room for customization. Nevertheless, Portable SiriSoft FileFinder offers a simple solution for finding files using wildcards to copy them to other directories.
