Shutdown Automaton Portable

Shutdown Automaton Portable is a software utility which helps people program their PC’s to shutdown, restart and sleep in specified circumstances.

This is the portable version of Shutdown Automaton, meaning that you can easily copy the program files to any location on the hard drive and run it from there by clicking the executable. In addition to that, you can use the tool on any computer you have access to, by dropping the last mentioned files to a portable storage unit.

You should also keep in mind that Shutdown Automaton Portable is not going to change the Windows registry and Start menu/screen in any way.

The interface is fairly straightforward, and it is comprised of several sections, each one allowing you to change certain parameters.

For example, you can program the PC to shutdown, restart, lock, sleep and log off on a specific time point, by choosing the date, time and frequency (once, daily, weekly). It is also possible to schedule the computer to perform certain actions, by counting up to a user-input time, when there has been no user or computer activity for a specified period or when a selected file is deleted or renamed.

From the settings panel you can run the last saved schedule automatically when program starts, set up when to be warned about an execution, start automatically with Windows and enable the silent mode (no notifications balloons).

To sum up, Shutdown Automaton Portable is an efficient piece of software which does not put a strain on your computer’s performance, as the CPU and memory usage is minimal. We did not register any errors, bugs or crashes during our tests.
