Window Manager Portable

Designed as the portable counterpart of Window Manager, Window Manager Portable is a lightweight piece of software that gives you the possibility to sort opened windows by dividing the screen into multiple sections. It's based on the Aero Snap feature used in Windows 7 and Vista.

It's not exactly accurate to say that this version is portable because it's not standalone. Window Manager Portable depends on .NET Framework to work properly. On the other hand, you can copy the downloaded files to a preferred directory on the disk or to a removable storage unit, in order to directly run it on any PC with Microsoft's platform installed. Unlike many installers, it doesn't update the system registry with new entries.

Once launched, the utility gets integrated into the system tray to provide quick access to its options while enabling you to carry on with your typical desktop activity without being interrupted by balloon messages or popup windows.

By default, the active window can be snapped to the upper or lower right or left corner of the screen, as well as placed on the center. However, the grid size can be customized by specifying any number of rows and columns from the settings panel.

You can find out the coordinates of the window's location along with its width and height, set keyboard shortcuts to the main and snap window, as well as apply a background color or image.

Multiple profiles can be created and managed with window sizes to swiftly apply when moving or resizing them. It's possible to set the profile name, pick a monitor, and set a hotkey.
