Portable PMeter

Since technology evolved along with its connected sections, everything around us became digitized. We design house and clothes plans or different projects with the aid of a powerful PC and other necessary pieces of software, but when it comes to measuring something, you can't seem to find anything to offer a simple interface yet efficient. The Internet is full of different tools to help you do that.

Portable PMeter is one of them, being a simple and user-friendly application designed to offer an efficient way of measuring various designs, icons, images or even the screen and comes with three user configuration sets. Thanks to its portable nature it can be copied to external drives and run from any computer. Its interface is plain consisting of a ruler that can be moved to any location on the monitor and integrates a few common functions that are easy to reach into its layout. Additional features can be accessed by right-clicking on it.

The ruler can be set to stay on top of other applications to quickly determinate the size of a geometrical shape, project or desktop icons if you like to create innovative icons for various applications. It comes with a color picker in case you need to know or work with the tone of any pixel visible on the screen. Plus, it displays a mouse movement coordinator that may come in handy to calculate particular positions.

The tool can be easily rotated vertically and horizontally, flipped from left to right for double measurements and turned up and down depending on what you want to determine. PMeter comes with three predefined configurations. The first two are similar to one another, the color being the only element that changes, and the third comes with a magnifier to specify the exact position number.

However, from the settings you can create your custom set that lets you name it, set a width value and a label, select the proper unit and granularity, as well as the colors for the background and cursor line, and the transparency level.

The magnifier can be enabled to be visible, have a particular zoom percentage, along with crosshairs (e.g. open, continuous, small cross), horizontal or vertical position. Plus, you can select what action should be executed when double-clicking on the ruler and what buttons to be shown, as well as how many pixels per inch to use and the preset values.
