ZoomIt Portable

ZoomIt Portable might give one the impression that the software is a simple zooming tool for reading purposes. That is not quite the case. This program was designed as a presentation aid for individuals who must actively assist a presentation by deploying high levels of zoom, annotation, and recording features. Such abilities might not impress on their own, but if properly applied, the app can help you add a rather personal touch to your day-to-day presentation.

ZoomIT is active in the background, so it will reside in the system tray most of the time. The interface is mostly informational and does not provide active support when dealing with a task. You simply set up the parameters inside the UI, and send it back to the tray. Configuring the tool is not a chore, as it can be totally operated using hotkeys.

As already mentioned, hotkeys are the bread and butter with ZoomIT. However, there are some details that need adjusting before getting to figure out the keybindings. For example, the tools sport six primary functions: Zoom, LiveZoom, Draw, Type, Break, and Record. Each of these assets has its own customization menu and can comprise magnification levels, startup preferences, fonts, and timers.

All primary modes have fully customizable hotkeys, but some sub-features don't. If activating the Draw mode is done with a combination of your choosing, changing the color of the pen or spawning a whiteboard or a blackboard won't have the same flexibility. ZoomIt Portable is a niche tool created from a need to have more control when running presentations. Its strong points are represented by various levels of zoom, a neat drawing board, and even a break timer for workaholics. In short, don't be misled by the name, as the program can do much more than that.
