JBoss Developer Studio

JBoss Developer Studio is a highly capable development platform which enables you to create and modify a series of applications for the PC, for the Web, even for your mobile phone. The software provides a comprehensive working space, divided into several areas, which grant you full control on each aspect of the development.

JBoss Developer Studio is a highly versatile tool, which offers you a large series of instruments that allow you to develop an application, starting from a template or from scratch. Moreover, it provides support for the entire development process, for multiple programming models and frameworks. The software is Java-based and allows you to create other applications on the same basic platform.

However, it allows you to select one of the several supported Java frameworks, such as JavaServer Faces or Java Persistence API. Support for developing applications with Maven is also provided.

Once installed JBoss Developer Studio requires that you indicate a workspace, in a local folder or even in a network. The software can set the structure for several types of projects, including HTML 5, RichFaces, Spring MVC, CDI Web or even a custom defined project. You may start working on a new application or on a new component, such as packages, class, interface, source folder, bean, JAX-RS Resource or files.

The software offers a step-by-step wizard that can guide you through the incipient phases of each new item. The software’s interface is divided into multiple areas, including the main workspace, the project/package explorers, which display the tree structure of the object, the JMX navigator and the Outline column. The console at the bottom of the window displays notifications regarding problems, item properties, servers, Forge and OpenShift connections.

Although a complex program, JBoss Developer Studio is user-friendly and easy to get accustomed to. Its clear-cut interface allows you to control each stage, process and detail of your project, as well as to import/export required elements. It is also a suitable environment for compiling source code and deploying new applications.
