RoX BASIC

RoX BASIC is a small-sized, free and open-source software utility that enables you to create executable files with the BASIC language.

After a fast and uneventful setup operation, you are welcomed by a classical window with a clear-cut structure, where you can start typing code in the BASIC programming language, as well as import forms from internal or external sources, manage or delete them.

When it comes to objects, you can insert buttons, checkboxes, labels, listboxes, textboxes, memos, timers, progress bars, browsers, and dialogs, in addition to functions and declarations.

A project explorer is put at your disposal and it allows you to export forms to file with the RoX BASIC Form format (.rxf). The tool can be asked to check for code errors and show them in a separate area, compile and run the code, or save the project to file to resume it later.

You can also use a search-and-replace function, edit form or object properties, change the UI font and text color, as well as specify the project's comment, company, description, copyright and trademark.

There were no stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that RoX BASIC didn't hang, crash or display error messages. It had a good response time and minimal impact on computer performance, using low CPU and RAM.

Although it doesn't integrate rich features and customization settings, the utility offers a simple solution to creating and compiling projects in the BASIC programming language.
