Python Connector for xBase

Accessing the xBase family of databases from different working environments can sometimes be difficult, especially when wanting to bridge the gap in terms of achieving better interoperability. For instance, accessing an xBase database from your Python development environment, or Python-based apps can be difficult, and this is what lies at the core of Python Connector for xBase.

This application was developed specifically in order to enhance the functionality of the Python-xBase connectivity, by providing users the means to achieve said connectivity, in the context of performing operations that pertain to creation, reading, updating, and deleting operations on data in the xBase databases.

Just as with similar Python connectors from Devart, it also shares the same, full implementation of the Python DB API 2.0 specification and it is being deployed as a wheel package for both 32 and 64-bit installation of Windows.

In addition to its base functionality, Python Connector for xBase allows Python-based apps for a direct connection to environments such as Visual FoxPro, dBase, and other xBase databases, which will basically eliminate the requirement for a dedicated client library.

This direct connectivity will yield superior data transmission speeds between Python-based apps and the said databases, therefore simplifying the deployment.
