There are an abundance of programming languages you can use to work on your web projects, programs, or video games. Efficiency is dictated by your code knowledge, but a powerful editing environment also helps a lot. In this regard, CodeRoom comes as a distraction-free environment to focus on code writing.

One the bright side of things, the application doesn’t take you through a setup process, so you can run it as soon as download is done. This also means that it can be stored on a thumb drive so you can carry your projects and the edit environment, and use on other computers. Registry entries are not affected by runtime, so system stability remains intact.

As soon as the application is launched a dark veil covers your entire screen. You might end up scratching your head for a while, especially since the write pad is not delimited from the rest of the space. However, you can access the configuration file with a plain text editor and modify values to make it suit your style, with options for colors, and font used.

It’s also a good idea to pay a visit to the ReadMe file, because it contains all hotkeys the application relies on for basic operations such as opening a file, saving, quitting, and more. There are also some options in the context menu, but these refer to text selection, clipboard access, as well as undo and redo functions.

By default, the application comes with the means to help you work with code like LaTeX, and C++.
