Edit source code for projects written with an impressive array of programming languages, compile, and export your work with this practical editor #Edit code #Code editor #Write source code #Edit #Editor #Write
Writing down the source code for your projects doesn’t require any advanced editors by default, and can even be done in Notepad. Sure enough, it’s best to rely on specialized applications like CodingEditor to benefit from syntax highlighting, support for multiple languages, and other tools to make coding more comfortable.
The application takes little time, and effort to install, but you do need to make sure that .NET Framework is installed on your computer for it to work. On launch, the main window shows up, with most of the space representing the source code editing area.
Although there’s only the upper toolbar to work with, you can bring up additional panels for file explorer to easily select your project files, a code structure to browse through all written functions, clip library to quickly insert bits of code, document selector, and Hex editor, which functions independently from the rest of the features.
As far as code support is concerned, the application allows you to work on quite the variety of projects. Either loading existing projects, or creating new ones, the language needs to be selected to enable the syntax highlighter available for ActionScript, ALGOL, ASP, Assembly, BAT, Boo, C#, C++, Coco, HTML, Icon, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, Normal text, Patch, PHP, TeX, VBNET, VHDL, VisualFoxPro, and XML.
Line numbering makes it easy to identify code in your project, with the possibility to bring up a horizontal ruler for better text management. Search and replace allows you to easily find, and fix different lines of code, while general edit options make it easy to remove duplicate items, organize bookmarks, add comments, or change casing.
When you’re done writing the code, the project can be compiled at the press of a button. Export options allow you to easily save your work under any of the supported programming language file types.
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that CodingEditor is a practical application which helps you write, or edit existing source code for your projects. Language support provides a decent amount of flexibility, and edit options make the whole experience more comfortable.
