Writing code in one editor and having it typed at demand in another, or another input field, can surely be advantageous, especially considering that you need to have the syntax and indentation preserved in the process. Short of manually pasting each line and ensuring the proper indentation, users can rely on specialized tools, such as Mentos. This application was designed specifically in order to help users save time and avoid such hassles, by offering an easy fix for transferring code from one IDE to another and having it typed with the proper indentation, all in just a single click.

Right from the start, we noticed that the application comes sporting a very basic design, whose features and their inherent simplicity adequately encompass the scope and purpose of Mentos. Simply put, you’ll be able to paste your code in the available input field, and that’s it.

In addition to being able to add their preferred code to the input field, users will be able to also clear the entire text if required, thanks to the on-screen feature. However, there are no text formatting features on offer, which means that you’ll need to do any formatting prior.

Once you’re pleased with your syntax and indent formatting, and have added your code to the input field, you will then be able to simply and quickly have it ready to be typed in the next IDE or interface that you’ll be working with.

Having pressed the Mentos! button, all that you need to do next, is click the field where you want the code to be typed, and press “Esc”. And that’s it, you can now preview the code as it’s being typed, with the corresponding indent. Wonderful.

This minimalist yet capable application will provide a simple and efficient solution to typing your code on demand, complete with indent formatting, in whichever secondary interface you might be happening to work with, in just a single click.
