Micro Playlist

Micro Playlist is a straightforward piece of software that permits you to open XSPF playlists previously created with the VLC media player, in order too view and edit their XML code. It doesn't contain complex options or configuration parameters, making it accessible to all types of users.

Installing this utility is a fast task that requires minimal user intervention and shouldn't impose any difficulties. Once it's over, you can launch Micro Playlist and check out its simplistic interface, made from a common-looking window. Although it doesn't put emphasis on graphical elements, it's very easy to navigate.

You can open an XSPF playlist using the file browser only, since the drag-and-drop method is not supported. Micro Playlist quickly loads its contents in the main window, thus giving you the possibility to make any modifications to the XML code.

Changes can be overwritten to the original file or saved to a new one by specifying the output directory and file name. What's more, Micro Playlist enables you to open VLC without leaving its interface, as well as to put together a new XSPF playlist in just a couple of steps. There are no other notable options available.

We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the application didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages. It had minimal impact on computer performance, running on low CPU and RAM.

Although it doesn't include richer options and customization settings, Micro Playlist offers a simple solution to editing the XML code of XSPF playlists. We must also take into account the fact that it hasn't been updated for a long time.
