Games and programs are all built on a solid programming code structure, with various applications nowadays simplifying the creation process through integration in visual elements, reducing the need for coding knowledge. This doesn't make classic methods obsolete, with professional programmers being able to use specialized programs like Personal Editor to modify large quantities of data, with support for various popular languages.
Note that the application can be used by anyone, but to properly take advantage of its features it's best you know your way around programming even with your eyes closed. It comes under x32 and x64 versions for more flexibility, as well as a portable edition you can use on the go, since it doesn't use a lot of system resources.
The application's visual design consists of a console interface, which might require a little accommodation time. There's a rich file menu, but accessing it can be a little difficult until you get the hang of it. By default, the documentation file is opened so it's a good idea to take your time to see what can be achieved.
Your mouse doesn't have much saying in this, with most activities carried out with the keyboard. All actions need to be written down and thanks to an implemented auto-complete feature, this becomes a little less complicated than it seems.
Compatibility with other programming languages is a plus and you can work on different projects such as C/C++, Java, HTML, BASIC, ASM and BAT files. There's even a built-in syntax highlighter you can customize to easily identify code elements and expressions.
Multiple files can be kept active at a time, with navigation options letting you easily switch between them and browse through content. Text management benefits from several features with which to quickly delete lines, merge or split them, arrange, reformat and trim by removing unnecessary spaces, leadings or trailings.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Personal Editor is an old-school, complex and powerful application that gives you an idea of what programming actually means. It's pretty flexible, with different editions, as well as compatibility with popular languages. Although not for first-time users, it's packed with rich documentation and variety of tools to make it perfectly fit in any programming environment.
