Designed not only for math students but also for casual users, Advanced Arithmetic Calculator is a command-line utility that gives you the possibility to perform arithmetic calculations with simple and complex expressions in a Command Prompt interface.
The application gets unpacked swiftly and effortlessly, as there are no special options, mandatory software tools or third-party offers bundled with the setup file. The source code can be found and examined in the installed directory.
If you want to skip the entire setup procedure and be able to launch the program from a removable storage device, you can use its portable edition with identical options, called Advanced Arithmetic Calculator Portable.
It starts an instance of Command Prompt after installation, asking you to enter the arithmetic data. Calculations are made instantly, after which you can view results and continue with new expressions.
The app offers support for the addition "+", subtraction "-", division "/" and multiplication "*" standard math operators. Moreover, it's capable of solving complex expressions involving parenthesis "()", square brackets "[]", curly brackets "{}", negative values, along with the "pi" and "e" natural constants. Typing "res" shows the previous result returned by the tool.
It supports two interface languages (English and Portuguese), which can be launched from two separate executable files. We haven't experienced any stability issues in our evaluation, since it didn't hang or crash when entering unsupported characters. CPU and RAM consumption was minimal, so it didn't hog system resources.
To sum it up, Advanced Arithmetic Calculator provides you with a simple command-line interface for making standard and complex mathematical calculations. It doesn't require previous experience with CLI tools, thanks to its straightforward approach. Unfortunately, it doesn't implement an option for saving the information to file.
