This software allows the user to calculate the intensity of acoustic, elastic, electromagnetic and quantum waves based on amplitude and other parameters.. #Amplitude Converter #Intensity Converter #Amplitude to Intensity #Amplitude #Intensity #Converter
If you're a student or work in the fields of mechanical or electronic engineering, you'll most likely have a few chapters (if not classes) where you have to learn about waves, how they are generated and how do you calculate their intensity. Given how waves can be generated through an almost limitless number of ways and a variety of materials, learning exact values isn't exactly efficient, so using calculators can come as useful. One such calculator is Amplitude-to-Intensity Calculator, a lightweight software solution for when you need to perform quick conversions in the intensity of mechanical waves and decibels.
While admittedly the UI may not be much to look at, you cannot deny that it is designed to be as simple as possible, and considering how all you are interested in the values that it calculates, looking dated is something you could as well overlook. All brackets and fields are intuitively named, the buttons are well placed, and the high-contrasting choice of colors make the app visible, which can come in handy if you're carrying around in a laptop as you do field calculations.
Amplitude-to-Intensity Calculator allows you to calculate the intensity of mechanical waves in watts or squared meters and decibels based on the input of the amplitude, as well as the frequency and density of the propagation medium and speed of sound in the propagation medium. More so, it also allows the user to calculate the change in pressure brought by a propagating sound wave.
The app is not limited to just mechanical waves, as it can also perform conversions with Electromagnetic waves as well (radio, microwave, infrared, visible light, UV, X, or Gamma). A neat feature is that you can choose to view these values in either numerical form or as graphical representations through the "Plot Chart" menu.
While not a program any common user can have on their PC, Amplitude-to-Intensity Calculator is great for those of you who may need to find the intensity value of various waveforms, such as students attending mechanics, physics or electronics classes, or real-life engineers working in the field.
