Clavicula

We may take the animation we see in games and animated films for granted sometimes, but it cannot be denied that there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes to bring that final product to life. To animate things, you first have to model and sculpt them — and for that, you'll need specialized tools.

These tools come in many forms, and software to model and animate exists to help creators with their work. Such applications are usually not too welcoming to casual users due to a steep learning curve, as caused by the animation workflows. Clavicula is a bit different in that regard, as it is a full-featured app for 3D modeling, accessible to casual users just as well as it is to the experienced.

This app's interface is an easy-to-grasp one. Upon opening it, users will notice the list of icons on the left side of the layout, designed to help them interact with the models themselves. You can move them around, change their orientation, contort them, and more.

The menus on the right side are where you are allowed to introduce new models. By clicking the "Create" icon, represented by a waveform, the "Tools" submenu will pop. Through this menu, you will be able to add in meshes, curves, and other such elements, then edit and particularize their shape.

There are additional icons on the top right side of the layout, and they mostly change how you can view the models. For instance, clicking the first icon, represented by a sphere, will change the way in which the objects are rendered. You can choose to render their depth, shading, among other options. "Wireframe", "Bloom", and "Glow" work very much the same.

Clavicula is an intuitive tool to use for your 3D modeling work. As much as it can be used for professional tasks, it can just as well be used to make a fun personal project.
