DICOM Anonymizer

DICOM Anonymizer is a straightforward piece of software that enables you to hide DICOM files or entire directories with basic or complete information. It does not comprise rich features or configuration parameters, making it accessible to all types of users.

The setup procedure is a rapid task that shouldn't impose any difficulties, thanks to the fact that only familiar options are displayed. Administrative privileges are required to run DICOM Anonymizer, though.

Its interface is minimalistic, based on a simple window that shows only three buttons and two menus.

You can point out a .dcm-formatted file on the computer or whole directory filled with DICOM files, as well as select the output directory and file name, in order to save the  results to file. These are also shown in the main app window.

DICOM Anonymizer lets you hide the DICOM files with basic or complete data. The basic method shows common information and the annonymized dataset, while the complete mode compares the dataset results and highlights the differences in the src and annonymized dataset.

The software application popped up several errors in our tests. However, this might be due to the fact that we ran DICOM Anonymizer on a later operating system, and the tool has not been updated for a long time, so it may have compatibility issues with recent OS.

Its impact on system performance was minimal, though, and it almost instantly showed the results. Although it is not feature-rich, DICOM Anonymizer delivers a simple solution to hiding DICOM files.
