MouseTracker is an application that provides a way to both test and train your coordinate and reaction times, but also study them.

While this can be daunting, the application includes both offline and online support to help you navigate through the applications different areas - specifically, the difference between Design and Analyzer mode.

The Design mode is where users can create click-based tests, they involve clicking one point after another as quickly as possible. They are easy to make and the application does a good job of explaining their creation, while the design makes it easy to understand. The Analyzer mode is more complex and might take users longer to decipher how it works.

With some time though, users will be able to load their results from the tests into an application. The results are displayed in various graphs for a more transparent way to display the data. The graphs are a good addition and might help users with less of a scientific background to understand the results.

The application comes with a few sample tests and results, with more available to download on the website. It is clear though that these resources are limited and users should not expect to rely on the samples too much. This application is intended for those willing to create their own tests and run their own experiments, while the tests can seem like a game, it remains a research application.

The number of settings and customizable options available when making tests is vast compared to how many there are for the actual application. While there are a few different file format options, the application more or less has to be taken as it is. There are no font settings or different graphs available, nor can the layout be changed in any noticeable way.

The application is a powerful research tool and targeting those with a serious interest in cognitive study. The application is not especially pretty to look at and doesn’t present users with many options to change how it runs. However, it does present a near unlimited level of customizable content for users to create and perform endless tests with.
