SCALC

SCALC is a software tool that was developed specifically to aid people in making all kinds of specialized calculations, with a minimal amount of effort.

You are not required to go through an installation process, as this tool is portable. This means that the Windows registry is not going to be updated with any new items, unless you approve of it first.

Another important aspect is that it is possible to place all the program files to an external data device such as a USB thumb drive, and thus take SCALC anywhere with you and run it on any PC you come by.

The interface you come across is quite typical for a command-line utility, which means that not all types of users will be able to work with it without facing difficulties, especially those less experienced with computers.

It opens with a list of all the available types of calculations you can take advantage of. For example, it is possible to calculate the diameter of a screw by inputting the screw number, as well as process fractional degrees, interpolation, scaling and max, min, median, mean and standard deviation.

To wrap it up, SCALC is a pretty efficient piece of software when it comes to making several calculations, dedicated to those that are used to working with command-line utilities. It does not affect the computer’s performance, as it does not use a lot of CPU and memory during its deployment. The response time is good and our tests did not render any crashes, freezes or hangs.
