Test rocket-propelled engines with this detailed application that allows you to alter both the geometry of the chamber and the nozzle characteristics #Engine analysis #Engine performance analyzer #Thermodynamic analysis #Engine performance #Engine #Rocket
Portable Rocket Propulsion Analysis Standard is a highly comprehensive resource meant to aid users in determining performance statistics for rocket-propelled engines.
The program comes with two methods of testing engines: a quick “Express analysis” and a more thorough “Extended analysis”.
Having two test modules is great not only because it accommodates most needs, but it also allows a high degree of customization.
Advanced users, in particular, will find the “Extended analysis” highly thorough and powerful. Parameters such as the thrust chamber size, propellants used or nozzle and ambient conditions are all adjustable by users.
Even more customization can be achieved by defining new propellants and components. These can be defined down to the level of the chemical formula. Polynomial and tabular properties can also be adjusted by users.
Upon running the simulation, the resource generates a significant amount of results, depending on the defined parameters.
Among the information, one can find thermodynamic properties, performance specifications, as well as the propellant analysis results.
One of the nice features of Portable Rocket Propulsion Analysis Standard is that it can save all these results in a single file (standard text LOG files); a built-in Print function is also available.
The interface is highly intuitive and surprisingly simple. Given that this is, essentially, a highly-specialized program, one would expect a rather complex GUI. This is not the case and students and newcomers will find at least the “Express analysis” very accessible.
In conclusion, Portable Rocket Propulsion Analysis Standard is great for anyone interested in running complex engine simulations.
The amount of customization is wonderful and the results are comprehensive. Having two test modes allows for simple and advanced tasks, a feature users will find very handy!
What's new in Portable Rocket Propulsion Analysis Standard 2.3.2:
- Updated tabular properties for CH4(L).
- Fixed issue in GUI, screen Thermal analysis: on Windows 10, the list of coolant is to small so that the components cannot be selected and edited.
