It is said that no two snowflakes are identical, which is likely true, as there is an incredibly large number of possible variations. Naturally, designing one can be quite difficult due to their complex shapes, which is why you may be interested in an application made for this very purpose.

Snowflake is a fairly simple, Java-based program that provides you with a purpose-built editor which makes it easy to create your own snowflakes. They are exported as vector shapes to PDF files.

After launching the application, you will see a basic hexagon shape in the main window. To start editing, you can move the control points that can be found at every vertex and in the middle of every line segment.

If you are happy with your design, you can go ahead and export it. It is important to note that only the outline of the snowflake is saved, without any colors of text.
