The Ouroboros ransomware comes in several variants that have affected a significant number of machines from around the world. Its infection vectors are RDP bruteforce attacks, server message blocks (SMB) and fake download links.

Like any other ransomware, it encrypts several types of files on the victim’s computer using the AES 256 CBC algorithm, making them unusable and appending them a custom extension.
