4K-Crypt

For most of us, encryption is, if not the best, then surely an alternative security measure worth taking when it comes to protecting sensitive data.

Usually, most run-of-the-mill encryption apps are quite novice-accessible and straightforward, and this is 4K-Crypt's case, as well. Basically, this no-frills piece of software helps you encrypt or decrypt files based on the ISO-8730 encryption standard and an 8-key numeric key.

Subsequent to its typical, wizard-based installation process, you can start using the app straight away, without any extra configuration procedures. It's also worth pointing out that the app integrates with the Windows Explorer, making encrypting files even simpler via the contextual menu.

Since we're on the subject, we should point out that some of the contextual menu options are quite useful. For instance, the "Crypt and delete" and "Decrypt and delete" can save you a bit of time, each time your decrypt or encrypt a file.

As mentioned before, its modus operandi is quite accessible, as you simply need to load the file that needs encrypting (or use drag and drop actions to load it), enter the 8-digit key, set the zipping option, and, of course, select the destination and hit the "Crypt" button.

Decrypting the file means you have to reverse the operation: load the encrypted file, enter the same key as before, and choose a location where the decrypted file will be stored to, and that's that.
