CrypPic

CrypPic is a software application built in Java whose purpose is to aid people in opening, editing and encrypting images, adding a hidden message or just take screenshots.

This product is portable and thus, the installation process is not necessary. As a consequence, unlike installers, it is not going to add any new items to the Windows registry and hard drive without your approval, and no leftovers are going to remain behind after you remove it from the disk.

You should also know that you can run it on the fly, on any PC you come in contact with by simply placing the program files to a removable storage unit, such as a USB thumb drive.

This utility enables you to open images and save results to a custom location, using formats such as PNG, JPG, GIF and BMP, as well as take snapshots of the entire screen or a specified window, or just paste an image from the Clipboard.

There are also many editing options, including rotating or flipping pictures, controlling their size, applying one of the several supported effects (e.g. black/white, grayscale, sepia, blur, sharp, saturation, emboss etc.) and adding text, geometrical shapes and lines. It is also possible to use an eraser or pencil, and create puzzles.

Last but not least, you can encrypt and decrypt a picture, as well as append a body text or any kind of file to it, as a message and hide it from prying eyes.

In conclusion, CrypPic is a pretty efficient piece of software for editing your images and protecting sensitive information. The environment is feature-rich and intuitive, the response time is good, the system’s performance is not hampered and we did not come by any bugs, errors or hangs in our tests.
