Cryptainer USB

Portable storage devices are easy to use and allow the quick transfer of data. However, as far as security is concerned, they are exposed to data loss and theft. With Cryptainer USB, you can address this issue and protect the data on your flash drives.

Keep in mind that Cryptainer USB can be deployed on portable flash drives only. In case such a device is not attached to the computer via an USB port, the installer cannot continue. Once installed, Cryptainer USB can be launched directly from the target device, avoiding deployment on the host computer.

Upon launch, you are greeted by a wizard that can guide you through all the steps needed to create a new encrypted volume to store your important files. You will be able to load this drive separately on your PC by providing the correct password, the one you choose during the wizard. It is mandatory that you provide a secure password and select the desired encryption algorithm.

Please note that the wizard requires you to format the drive so all the data previously stored on it will be gone. Thus, make sure you create backups before using this application..

Once the drive is available, all the applications on your computer will be able to access its content as if it were a regular drive in Windows.

A list of all the virtual drives is displayed by Cryptainer USB within its main window. The left side panel reveals the drive’s letter and name, while the right-side panel shows all the files stored on it. With the click of a button, you can open the Cryptainer drive in Windows Explorer to populate it with files.  There are a few other security-related features that Cryptainer USB comes with. Aside from creating a secure disk and encrypting files and folders to protect private content, the application comes with a virtual keyboard and a privilege mode, both meant to block the actions of keyloggers when attempting to capture keystrokes.

There are a few other things to discover about Cryptainer USB but one cannot deny that it provides a way to make sure the data you store on portable flash drives is secure. The files and folders you place here are only available to you, meaning that even if the flash drive gets lost or stolen, there is no danger.
