A user-friendly encryption solution that uses AES-256 protection to safely secure your important data without overwhelming new users #File Encryption #Data Encryption #Decryption Software #Encryption #Decryption #Data
Data encryption is naturally nebulous to a lot of novice users. The process of locking down a file with a password is simple enough to understand, but the various encryption methods and general complexity of cryptography can understandably put the uninitiated off.
The easier it is to secure your computer and protect your treasured data, the better, and as such, any efforts to make file encryption easier to work with are to be appreciated. SAV7 is one such example: it’s a tool that uses AES-256 encryption to safeguard your files with minimal intervention on your part.
The want for additional security is only natural in this day and age. As we rely increasingly more on our computers, it is by extension that some files are more important than others. SAV7 makes the process straightforward for all: select a file to encrypt, generate a key, and that’s all there is to it.
Each encrypted file will require its respective key to unlock. Ensure that you keep those generated .key files somewhere you can reach them without risking data loss or corruption, and you'll unlock your stuff whenever you need it.
Decryption is handled in the same interface. Select an encrypted .sav file, then specify the location of its .key file. Thereafter, the program should provide access right away.
The program works to offer a straightforward data encryption solution that is ultimately both user-friendly and reliable. However, some more experienced users may feel the need for more, in which case it’s best to look for alternatives.
AES-256 encryption is the only method available, which is likely more than enough for most users. However, even in the absence of other algorithms, some additional quality-of-life changes wouldn’t be amiss: selecting multiple files to encrypt at once would be neat, and keeping track of your .key files can be cumbersome.
Note that you can open .key files with Notepad and paste the respective keys in a text editor of your choice as backup. When it comes to decryption, simply paste the relevant keystring to a text file, then change its extension to .key to access your data. Displaying these keys in the interface, so that you can store them in fewer steps, would be another nice addition.
SAV7 is an encryption software to try if you’re looking for something simple, but effective, to protect your data. While it may feel somewhat basic for power users, it nevertheless works well to provide novice users an entry into data encryption.
