Unicode Crypter

Text string encryption can be a real saver in certain situations, especially for ensuring a secure conversion for later use. There are numerous programs that offer such capabilities and finding a simple-enough one for novice users can be difficult. Unicode Crypter is one such app, that provides a compact package which features basic and effective encryption/decryption tools, to and from Unicode format.

Based on the principle “data-in, data-out”, the app offers a twin view layout, for inputting the text strings and previewing the encrypted/decrypted version. Classic copy and paste controls are supported, both for keyboard as well as mouse, although no formatting options are available for structuring data.

One aspect that could be annoying is the fact that the interface is not resizable and there is no word-wrap feature provided. When going past that minor drawback, inputting text and performing the encryption is really swift and efficient.

The program does come with both encryption and decryption options and the process will be based on the automatically generated keys. Nevertheless, users can also define their own keys, provided that they respect the Hex syntax and maintain “0” as the first character in the key.

Once text has been encrypted, one can save the decryption key and use it later on in order to decrypt the text by simply pasting it in the corresponding input area.

This app offers a simple solution for ensuring security for users’ text data by encrypting it to Unicode format. It also offers decryption features and will automatically generate keys or allow users to define their own. Being portable, means that it will be the ideal choice for those who prefer to maintain their work “on-the-go”.
