HS Blacklist Check

Malware lurks at every corner of the Internet, with cyber criminals waiting to infect your PC and add you to the list of victims. Aiming to provide additional security for your computer, HS Blacklist Check delivers a simple tool that can check the PC for the presence of botnet C&C servers, as they are associated with various forms of malware that aim for data and identity theft.

The application extracts the list of forbidden and dangerous IP addresses from a list, as provided by the abuse.ch initiative. In essence, HS Blacklist Check only compares the lists of allowed IP addresses allowed in the Windows firewall to the blacklist provided by the site to detect if any address should be blocked.

The main window features two separate tabs: one for checking IP addresses, the other for viewing the blacklist. With the click of a button, you can configure the application to check for blacklisted IP addresses. If any is found, then the application allows you to double-click on each IP address to block them in Windows firewall.

The second tab, called “Blocklist” comprises a list of IP addresses that are associated with a botnet such as Dridex, Emotet (aka Heodo), TrickBot, QakBot (aka QuakBot / Qbot) and BazarLoader (aka BazarBackdoor).

Blocking all these IP addresses is possible, both for inbound and outbound connections, which surely comes in handy to network administrators.
