Hash Checker is a very simple piece of software that enables you to perform hash calculations using several popular algorithms. It lacks other advanced features, but it is very easy to use.

From the get-go, you will notice that the application’s UI isn’t exactly eye-catching, but its minimalistic design does have its advantages. Every function can be accessed easily from the main window, so you can get to work right away.

When calculating hashes, you can either paste a text string in the designated field or select a local file that should be analyzed. The results are displayed in a log, so you can check multiple files and then look at the results.

The application supports a number of algorithms, namely MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512, CRC32 and CRC64. You can select only the ones you are interested in, and the program also allows you to analyze a file’s size and creation time.

It would have helped if Hash Checker offered a feature to help users compare a generated hash value with one that is already available. It could save users a lot of time, especially if multiple files need to be analyzed in quick succession.

While it is not exactly packed with features, Hash Checker has the advantage of requiring no installation, which means you can launch it as soon as you have unpacked the downloaded archive.

The developer plans to improve this application in the future, so we will just have to wait and see what they have in mind. It is useful even in its current state, but it offers limited functionality.
