TesserCap

TesserCap is a very nice application that you could use in order to test CATCHA designs and edit them in any way.

It's filled with all sort of tools and features, not to mention that it sports a really intuitive interface that makes it easy to work inside the application.

The GUI is quite easy-to-use, it has all sections neatly arranged at the top of the screen, into tabs. It comes with lots of detailed instructions that you could check out, if you need some tips on how to use the application.

The first thing that you'll need to do is to provide it with the image's URL address and have the application load files. You can load how many images you want, but you can work on just one at a time.

It displays statistics for each batch of images that you load and it lets you adjust some options to meet your preferences. The default OCR engine is Tesseract and you can choose the character set, pick from upper or lower case, numerics and special characters.

There's also the option to adjust proxy settings and pick the proxy port. Other than that, you can enable the feature that follows redirects and assign HTTP request headers.

TesserCap allows you to invert colors on images, pick red, green or blue. You can also adjust color and modify them by a tone. Moreover, gray scaling is available together with the option of using cutoff settings and greyscale buckets.

Adjust values for a smoother or a sharper image and chop sections of the picture if you'd like. When you're done simply test the changes that you've made and see if the CAPTCHA file works properly.
