BackITup

Backing up data is a process mainly adopted by those people who lost important information due to technical difficulties, theft or other factors. If you were not affected by any of that but plan to stay safe BackItUp is a compact tool that can help you preserve your information.

BackItUp is not a large application, so the interface is very reduced regarding complexity and spread. The central part of it is represented by the list panel where all the files are uploaded for sync. Aside from the list grid, there is there is the "Synchronize" button that starts the backup process and the "Website" button, that won't redirect you to the official site, but it will open an activity log.

Also, the program is portable, and it requires no installation process, meaning that you can copy it on a disk or USB flash drive and use it on any system. The app can be accessed from the system tray, and the EXE file won't open it directly until clicked on in the tray

After you have selected you targeted folder or file, you can proceed to back it up. The process starts by counting all the files in case of a folder and also keeps track of new or modified data if you have already synced the same folder.

A downside would be the continuous sound notifications for almost every file counted. This happened only on Windows 10, and it can be stopped only by closing the program.

To sum it up, BackItUp is a handy and intuitive tool that synchronizes and creates copies of your folders on your PC or directly on external storage devices. I can be operated by any user with minimal PC skills, as it functions mostly include one-click actions and path selection.
