Create Restore Point

If you want to test an application that might affect the system’s functionality or perform changes that might pose risk to your files, then it is highly recommended you create a restore point first. In Windows, creating a restore point is easily done via the System Properties window. However, a simpler way to do this is using a dedicated application named Create Restore Point.

With a name that speaks for itself, this lightweight software tool can create a system restore point with just a click, without having to wonder around in the Control Panel or the System Properties window. It does not require any installation and, therefore, you can place it anywhere on the desktop and launch it whenever you need to back up the state of your system.

Before using it, it is advisable that you close all the running applications or games that you are currently using. Other than startup programs, no other application should be running when creating a restore point.

To backup the current state of your system, you just have to click a button and wait for the application to do its job. A text message is displayed in the text box, letting you know if the operation has been successful or not. Usually, it takes about two minutes or so to complete the task.

If you want to check if the restore point has been created, then you should type in “restore from a restore point” in the start menu. Windows allows you to see all the saved restore points here.
