Smart Backup

Computers are great when it comes to the amount of data they can store. Nonetheless, this also means that in the event of a crash, a lot of data can be lost, so regular backups are lifesavers. Smart Backup is one of the apps that can come in handy.

The software solution comes with a minimalist interface that displays two panels, side by side.

The left one is the place where you can start the backup tasks you currently need and view the progress of all this process. It shows the current date, as well as the names of the source and of the target directories.

The right one displays all the backup projects you have created so far within Smart Backup, and you can choose the ones you want to launch.

When setting up a new backup task, you need to start by assigning it a title, then specifying the location of the source and the target folders. Unfortunately, you cannot browse to these locations, so you need to type them manually.

You can add a brief note to each project, which can help you enter additional info about the files.

Moreover, you can set each project to be automatically backed up.

To wrap it up, Smart Backup is a nice little app for quickly backing up your folders. On the downside, you need to remember to back them up and actually press the button, since you cannot create a schedule to automate this task.

Also, you cannot choose between incremental, differential or full backups, nor can you select the types of files that should be processed each time.
