4th dater

4th dater is a tool you can use to change the timestamps, attributes and names of your files and folders in batch mode. It features advanced and intuitive options that make it easy to operate by experienced and casual users alike.

Setting it up is fast and easy. As far as the interface is concerned, the application adopts a neatly organized window with a dated appearance, where you can begin by adding files and folders to the task list, as well as view their name, extension, size, attributes and containing folder, along with the date of creation, last modification and last access.

It's possible to remove any items from the list if you change your mind, sort files by any of these criteria, hide the toolbar and status bar, show grid lines, as well as switch from the detailed view mode to large or small icons, or list.

The timestamps can be altered by setting an universal date and time for all three types: creation, modification and access. Alternatively, you can specify distinct values for each timestamp or keep them unaltered.

As far as file attributes go, you can set or remove the read-only, archive, hidden and system labels. Lastly, filenames can be modified by converting them or just their extensions to lowercase or uppercase.

4th dater is capable of processing checked, unchecked, selected or deselected items only, or all objects. Moreover, it can sort all filenames by taking into account the folder names, as well as use the short date format.

Tasks were carried out swiftly in our tests, during which 4th dater remained light on system resources consumption. No errors popped up and it didn't hang or crash. It used a low amount of system resources, so it didn't hamper the computer's performance.

Although it hasn't been updated for a long time and its interface could use some touches in the graphical department, this software application has comprehensive and approachable options for managing files and folders.
