Change Folder Date

Change Folder Date is an app that does exactly what its title suggests, it helps you modify the timestamp of your files or folders.

One of the most important features of this application is that it does not need to be installed on your computer, so you can simply copy it on your portable USB drive and launch it whenever you need to benefit from its feature set.

The GUI is neatly organized and pretty straightforward so you can easily add the items you want to process.

Despite its name, Change Folder Date offers you the possibility to tamper with the timestamps of files and folders, meaning it does not restrict you to directories. However, you cannot have both types of items simultaneously in the list, you need to take turns processing only files, then moving on to folders.

On the downside, the only way to add these to the main window is to manually browse to their location, since drag and drop actions are not supported.

Once you have set up the source list, you need to choose the type of attributes you want to alter. Change Folder Date can be used to modify the exact creation time and date, last write time and last access time.

For each of these parameters, you can either enter the current time and date, or you can navigate to certain values, depending on your needs.

This application can come in handy when you need to adjust the timestamps of your files or folders. It can be used even by novices, as it does not require any expert skills.
