CopyAs

CopyAs is a simple-to-use application that extends the functionality of your operating system by implementing various types of file operations into the right-click menu.

For example, it's possible to rename multiple files at the same time, open a Command Prompt instance in the current location, as well as copy full file and folder names to the Clipboard. The tool has an approachable set of options that can be tackled even by those with little or no experience in such software.

The installation procedure is speedy and shouldn't give you any trouble. However, before proceeding any further, you should know that the utility hasn't received updates for a long time and we couldn't get it to work on newer Windows.

After setup, CopyAs should become visible by opening the context menu of any selected file or folder, or even of multiple selected items.

It's possible to rename a series of files, copy or move items to another location on the disk, change the timestamps (date and time of creation, last access and last modification), as well as convert to uppercase, lowercase or case capitalization.

The tool enables you to copy the names of selected files and folders to the Clipboard (with or without their full paths), as well as to launch a console dialog in the current folder to be able to enter command-line parameters. As previously mentioned, it didn't work on later Windows versions. However, you can still use CopyAs if you have an older hardware configuration. It carried out file operations swiftly in our tests, without hanging, crashing or indicating errors. Needless to say, CPU and RAM usage was minimal, so it didn't hamper the computer's performance.

It's too bad that the software product hasn't been updated for such a long time. It doesn't look to be in development anymore either.
