File and folder management tasks can be done through the basic tools that Windows puts at your disposal. However, you might need to perform some advanced operations in the process, and D-Copy wants to help, providing various filters to apply, amount of resources to use, and other settings for folder synchronization.
The application isn’t quite for everyone, and you need to spend some time going through all it has to offer. The interface can seem a little confusing, and browsing through all settings panel can leave you scratching your head for a while.
Among the first steps is to configure the folders you want to manage. You need to select the source and destination, while a drop-down menu provides different operations to perform, such as copy, move, synchronize, or more advanced operations to copy only those specific files that have changed from the last process.
You can make functions a little easier to access by installing the context menu integration component. Moreover, special filters can be applied in order to include or exclude specific names, target files within a custom time range, or process them according to size. Jobs can be separately saved, letting you monitor multiple pairs of folders at once.
Apart from basic configurations, D-Copy offers the possibility to take matters into your own hands, and thoroughly specify how the process goes. System resources used can be managed from the general settings panel, as well as how files are handled according to the type of system they’re on. What’s more, you can have original files wiped through strong algorithms after they’re transferred to the new location.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that D-Copy is a powerful folder synchronization application, letting you thoroughly configure the whole process, with options that range from file filters to resource management. It may not be too visually appealing and can create a bit of confusion at first, but it proves to be a trustworthy companion once you get the hang of it.
