Move or copy files from one directory to the other, with options to overwrite existing items and possibility to set timer with this easy to use application #Directory surveillance #Copy file #File mover #Surveillance #Mover #Syncronize
File management might seem like an easy and rudimentary task, but when you have to manually have to perform management too often it quickly becomes a pain. Luckily, there are tons of specialized applications like FileMove Lite that are built to copy or move files from one location to the other in the blink of an eye.
All features are stored in a compact main window that makes accommodation a walk in the park. Although there aren’t any descriptions or documentations, the set of features is self explanatory, and little effort is required to figure out what needs to be done, as well as configure the application for general use.
The application’s core function is to move or copy files from one directory to the other, task which is pretty much known as synchronization. However, this is not exactly the case, because the operation can only be performed in one way. Sadly, there’s no option to have both directories kept with the same content, which means you only have to interact or add files to the source.
Configuring source and destination folders is pretty easy, and only requires you to use the built-in browse dialogs to select them. In case you’re working over a network connection, it comes in handy for sending files to a shared folder with no effort at all.
The operation can be performed in two ways, either to copy files or move them entirely. You can set the application to overwrite them if they’re already in the destination, and even to log events, just so you know if something goes wrong. A drop-down menu lets you select the interval you want the process to be performed.
Unfortunately, you can only set up one sync process at a time, and running the application again doesn’t bring up a separate instance to configure another pair of folders. What’s more, you need to manually add it to the startup folder if you want it to run with Windows and keep the process alive every time you turn on the computer.
All things considered, we can safely state that FileMove Lite is a lightweight and easy to use application that can transfer files from one folder to the other, with little to no effort on your behalf. All you need to do is choose folders and set up action time, and even though the process only goes one way, it’s still worth a try overall.
