FindDuplicates

Duplicate files not only occupy important hard drive space, but they also slow down your system and, in case of restoring or creating a backup, make you lose time. Find Duplicates is a program created to help you trace all the redundant files stored on your computer.

The software has a clean, easy-to-use interface. You can select the drives that you want the app to scan and even add a few filters. For example, if you know part of the name of the duplicate file, you can input that in the “Find” field.

If you want the software to search particular directories, you can add their names. In contrast, you can also choose files that you want to skip, such as Program Files or Windows.

Find Duplicates also lets you choose which type of redundant files to search for. Thus, you can scan for files that share the date and time, files that have the same name or items that have zero size.

Advanced options permit you to skip the Desktop or Windows folders by default. Also, you can have the app recognize as duplicates only files that have the same size.

The scan can be launched easily by pressing the “Find Now” button. The results are sorted by name, size, type and last modification date. By right-clicking the files you can get redirected to the containing folders.

In order to delete the files you must press the delete button on your keyboard since the app doesn’t support batch deletion.

File Duplicates is a nice app, with a clean, easy-to-use interface that shouldn’t be a problem to figure out by users of all levels of experience.
