FolderWorks is an easy-to-use software application designed to help you seamlessly calculate files from a given directory and sort them by extensions.

It doesn't come packed with complex options or configuration parameters, making it accessible to all user levels.

Setting up this tool is a fast and simple job that doesn't require special input. As far as the interface is concerned, FolderWorks adopts a regular window with a neatly organized structure.

You can specify the directory to scan, ask the tool to show aggregate for all subfolders, display only the ones at a given level, show file size instead of file count, and to skip empty directories.

Once it finishes a search job, the app shows the total number of found extensions, folders and files, along with the total size. This data can be exported to external files with the HTML, CSV or TXT format.

What's more, you can hide the parent column, display file size in KB, MB and GB, show zeros in the results list, hover a selection, as well as create a list with file extensions to take into account. There are no other notable options available here.

No error messages were shown in our testing, and the utility didn't freeze or crash. It conducted file search jobs swiftly while remaining light on system resources consumption.

On the other hand, it doesn't implement richer options and configuration settings for experienced users. Nevertheless, FolderWorks gets the job done and you can test it for yourself, since it's freeware.
