Finding files on your computer can sometimes prove to be a difficult task. It’s even harder to find pictures, especially if you shoot a few on a daily basis, and chances are you store more copies of the same on in different locations. As far as the visual structure is concerned, the application doesn’t boast any spectacular features, storing all of its features in a classic interface style that makes accommodation a walk in the park. The structure is decent, with a tabbed panel letting you configure and run search processes, upper toolbar filled with editing controls, while results are shown in a list.

It’s enough to press the Search button to put the process in motion. A progress slider lets you know how far until results are shown, while the amount of files found is updated in real time and shown in the status bar. By default, the application looks in the Pictures directory, so you might want to go ahead and manage sources if you’re using different folders for image files.

Switching to the options tab lets you specify when the application should autoselect entries it detects, and you can do this according to resolution, size, or last modification time. Moreover, a built-in option can transform the program into a fully functional search engine, but with a catch.

In case you decide to List all files, the application takes incredibly long to index everything, and you’re sure to cancel after ten minutes of still no results. This is because the core function is not to load all files, but calls upon specific algorithms only to look for those image files that match.

You can save the current workspace to be used in other situations, in case you decide to use one location for transferring a lot of pictures. When results are shown, you also get to view location and size, and have the possibility to delete, copy, cut, and move to another location.

Bottom line is that pictures are a really common file type nowadays and one can easily store two identical copies. Luckily, there are various applications like Image Search Pony, and it’s most likely that you find new ones, because the poor implementation of features leaves a bit more to be desired for this one.
