ImageFinder can be operated by both beginners and experts looking to locate duplicate graphic files within specific directories on their computer.

This application packs a straightforward GUI that makes it crystal clear even for novices that they first need to drag and drop their image folders onto the main window. Alternatively, you can manually navigate to these locations and add them to the list one by one.

Moreover, you can choose which folders should be skipped when performing a new search.

The next step is specifying the type of dupes you hope to find: either identical files, or only similar ones (you can set the similarity degree by adjusting the dedicated slider).

As soon as the analysis is complete, ImageFinder offers you the possibility to browse thumbnails for each item, then right click an entry to either send it to the Recycle Bin, or permanently remove it from your PC.

On the downside, you cannot narrow down the search to process only images sharing a certain file format, size or name. In other words, you are stuck examining all the pictures in all selected folders, until the duplicates you are looking for are detected.

Also, the app does not come with a built-in viewer, which means that whenever you want to get a full size preview of any image, you need to wait a few seconds until the default image viewing software is launched.

Overall, ImageFinder is a nifty app for everyone who wishes to quickly find duplicate graphic files on their machine and who has the time to browse all the results to manually remove the dupes. Nonetheless, its lack of customizable parameters turns the entire process in a rigid experience as it cannot be adapted to each user's necessities.
