Sure enough copying content of a folder to another is an incredibly easy task. However, having to do this often, and for existing, but updated files can be a bit of a hassle, and prone to mistakes. Luckily, there are specialized applications like MOBZync which help compare, and synchronize content of two directories.

With the application installed in little time, you get to check out the set of features shortly after download. It’s also a good idea to check whether your computer is equipped with .NET Framework, because it’s a required component to ensure functionality.

The main window is split into two panels so you can have the two target folders in plain sight at all times. To be able to use any functions, you first need to select the pair of folders you want to compare. This is done through the built-in browse dialogs, or pasting the path in a dedicated field, with no support for drag and drop.

Hitting the “compare” button scans the folders for similar files. If they’re identical they’re not shown in the results sheet. All others are shown, with neat filters to indicate unchanged, newer, added, and older items. You can toggle any of them at the press of a button.

There are no direct operations you can perform to files. However, a decent variety of options show up right before synchronization. As such, you get to specify the type of operation, which can copy files both ways, or from one side to the other, and decide what happens to changed, unchanged, and added files. You can have the operation tested first, with no changes made to the actual content of selected folders.

Bottom line is that MOBZync is sure to help you easily update content of two folders, even if one is not on your hard disk drive. Although there’s no built-in scheduler to have the operation repeated automatically, configuring options, and selecting target folders requires little time, and effort.
