MRename is integrated in shell (Windows Explorer) so you have easy access. Just select files in Windows Explorer and right click. It will appear in the menu just above Rename as MRename and MR QuickMenu(custom actions).
It supports part of regular expressions found on standard Linux systems(PCRE).
MRename operates on "what you see is what you get" principle. You won't be able to make any modifications until you select 'Rename Selected', 'Rename One', or 'Rename All' options which takes file names from the visible list and uses them in the renaming process.
System requirements
What's new in MRename 1.7 Build 516:
- Drag & Drop image now reflect multiple selected files
- Last created undo or log file differs from last loaded file name if there is no numbering consistency. Current limit for log and undo is 99 files per directory.
- Fixed some problems with XP themes on non XP systems(uxtheme.dll)
- Fixed drag & drop within file 'list window' error occured when user draged outside program and released mouse button. Drag image was still visible and nothing happened. Now, when you drag outside of window last selected drop(highlited item) point will be used as drop target.
