Moo0 File Monitor

Moo0 File Monitor is a simple-to-use Windows application that enables you to keep track of all file activity and find out what the system or other users are exactly accessing when performing file operations. It comes packed with a simple set of options that should be easy to figure out by all types of users.

The setup procedure does not take a long time to finish. However, you should be careful when going through the wizard steps, as Moo0 File Monitor offers to donwnload and install other tools (made by the same developer) that it does not actually need to work properly. Toward the end of the installer, it also offers to run at every system startup until further notice.

The GUI is clean and intuitive. A list with all files monitored by default is loaded at startup, along with the date and time of access, modification type (create, write, rename, delete), size and full path for each item. The location of any selected file can be opened in Windows Explorer via the context menu.

The bottom part of the screen displays the percentage of disk utilization , along with the read and write speed. Log details can be exported to an HTML file for closer examination.

It is possible to exclude drives from the monitor, as well as to deactivate the monitor for creating, writing, renaming or deleting files. You can change the checkup frequency and number of log files to keep, make the frame stay on top of other windows, as well as switch to another UI language.

The tool does not put a strain on PC performance, since it runs on low CPU and memory. It is very responsive, becomes non-intrusive when minimizing to the system tray on close, and worked smoothly during our evaluation, without triggering Windows to hang, crash or pop up error messages.
