MultiFile Replace

MultiFile Replace is a straightforward piece of software you can use to find and replace words in the content of multiple text documents across folders and subfolders. It offers support for ASP, C, CPP, H, HTM, HTML, PHP and TXT format.

The tool gets unpacked quickly and effortlessly. The only important aspect about it is that it depends on .NET Framework, so you must download and install this platform unless you already have it.

The main panel of MultiFile Replace has a simple design and neatly structured layout, where you can indicate a directory to scan, apply file filters or look into all types, include or exclude subfolders, as well as make the search case sensitive.

Two boxes are available for entering text to search as well as for the replacements. You can add as many keywords as you want, one per line, as well as ask the tool to conduct a scan only instead of automatically replacing text.

This way, you can analyze and check the list with files and their names to make sure you're not making any mistakes, since the modifications cannot be undone. The results list reveals the full path of the identified files, the total occurrences of the keywords, along with the status.

Changes are immediately applied without any popup message for confirmation, so you can open the files to check results (the specified keywords should be removed) using the internal viewer by double-clicking an entry in the list. The internal viewer can be swapped for any other text viewing application from your computer (either installed or portable) by just indicating its .exe file.

The interface of MultiFile Replace makes it look like a rudimentary tool with few options put at your disposal. However, it's fast and efficient, giving you the possibility to effortlessly replace words from multiple files at the same time. System resources usage was minimal in our tests.
