NISTViewer

Designed for biometric data handling, NISTViewer is a straightforward piece of software that facilitates a user-friendly interface for viewing fingerprint records. It was built using Net-X Solutions Impex Library and WSQ Library.

It's capable of opening NIST files with the .nst, .eft and .an2 extension, as well as of printing images. The tool is compatible with ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2000, ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2007 and ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011.

The installation is quick and simple, thanks to the fact that the wizard has familiar steps. When it comes to the interface, NISTViewer has a single window with an uncomplicated structure that provides you with the classical file browser for locating and opening NIST files.

You can check out file information about the ID and description of each item, preview the fingerprint, as well as analyze record details in a separate area.

The program gives you the possibility to print the image or Ten Print Card, enable the front profile in the startup tab, as well as customize minutia, core and delta colors for type 9 overlay.

Apart from the fact that you can check for software updates with the click of a button, there are no other notable options available.

It didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. It worked smoothly, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or prompt error messages.

To sum it up, NISTViewer comes packed with advanced features for biometric data handling. However, they can be easily used by those interested in analyzing fingerprint files. Plus, it's free for non-commercial use.
